Brian Carrico
President & Chief Executive Officer
Brian Carrico is President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors of NeurAxis, Inc. (NYSE American: NRXS), a commercial-stage medical technology company pioneering neuromodulation therapies for chronic and debilitating conditions in both pediatric and adult patients.
Brian joined NeurAxis in 2012 as one of the company’s earliest employees and has played a central role in the organization’s evolution from a startup to a publicly traded medical technology company. During his tenure, he has held leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including Vice President of Sales and President, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer on January 1, 2018.
Throughout his career at NeurAxis, Brian has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategic direction, raising growth capital, advancing product development, expanding intellectual property, and building the commercial infrastructure necessary to bring innovative neuromodulation technologies to market. Working alongside leading physicians, researchers, and healthcare institutions across the United States, he helped guide the development and commercialization of IB-Stim®, a first-of-its-kind, FDA-cleared percutaneous electrical nerve field stimulation (PENFS) technology.
Under Brian’s leadership, NeurAxis has achieved numerous significant milestones, including the successful completion of its Initial Public Offering (IPO), expansion of national commercial operations, attainment of broad insurance coverage representing north of 100 million covered lives, inclusion in national clinical practice guidelines, and the establishment of a Category I CPT code and physician work RVUs for IB-Stim. The company has also expanded its neuromodulation platform into adult indications and continues to develop additional technologies aimed at improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs.
Prior to joining NeurAxis, Brian held medical device sales positions with Bard Medical and St. Jude Medical, where he specialized in supporting physicians in the operating room and cardiac catheterization laboratory environments.
Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from Indiana State University. He remains focused on executing NeurAxis’ long-term strategy while creating value for patients, providers, employees, and shareholders through innovation, clinical evidence, and responsible growth.
Timothy Henrichs
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Henrichs brings over 20 years of global leadership experience across several industries, including healthcare, home improvement, retail, software, and education. Most recently, Mr. Henrichs served as a member of the NeurAxis Board since August 8, 2023, and the Chief Financial Officer of Renovo Home Partners since 2022.
He also served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Follett Corporation from 2008 to 2022 and Global Controller of General Electric Company’s Healthcare Clinical Systems division responsible for the manufacture and distribution of medical devices to the ultrasound, patient monitoring, and anesthesiology markets from 2005 to 2008 in addition to leadership positions at Federal Signal Corporation and Ernst & Young LLP.
Mr. Henrichs earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and is a Certified Public Accountant with an inactive license in the State of Illinois.
Dr. Adrian Miranda
Senior VP of Science & Technology, Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Miranda brings a unique background of research and clinical expertise to his role as Chief Medical Officer of NeurAxis. He is a Professor of Pediatrics and a board certified Pediatric Gastroenterologist. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology from San Diego State University and obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency and subspecialty training in Pediatric Gastroenterology at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (CHW).
As a physician scientist, he has spent the past 15 years of his career investigating the pathophysiology of visceral and somatic pain, as well as exploring new therapeutic options. His focus has been on studying the effects of adverse early life events, neuroplasticity and the development of chronic pain. He has an extensive publication record and has lectured nationally and internationally. His studies have translated to increased awareness of the importance of pain management and have significantly contributed to an increased understanding of the pathophysiology of pain.
He has received numerous accolades for his work including the prestigious “Basic Science Award” from the IFFGD foundation, the clinical and basic science awards from the national pediatric gastroenterology society (NASPGHAN), and the REGAL Award for outstanding research in the field of Gastroenterology, amongst others. Dr. Miranda has received funding from the National Institute of Health (NIH) to advance pain research and has served as a NIH study section reviewer. He has also been appointed to numerous national and international committees. Most recently he served on the Rome – European Medicines Agency (EMA) Pediatric Committee in charge of developing guidelines for endpoints and outcomes of clinical trials in children with irritable bowel syndrome.
Dr. Miranda has been recognized by his peers as an outstanding teacher and clinician. He is a recipient of the “Outstanding Teacher of the Full-Time Pediatric Faculty” award at CHW and has been included in the “Best Doctors in America” list consistently for the past 8 years.
Dr. Tom Carrico
Chief Regulatory Officer
Dr. Carrico is the Chief Regulatory Officer of NeurAxis, Inc. He has over 40 years of experience in the healthcare field, including 30 years prior to coming onboard at NeurAxis in 2012 and has been passionately involved in the study and application of techniques and treatments that directly affect the autonomic nervous system, especially regarding homeostasis and balance of the parasympathetic and the sympathetic nervous system.
Dr. Carrico has a unique history of working with attorneys on state and national boards, which has positioned him to integrate into regulatory responsibilities at NeurAxis. While working with Dr. Miranda and outside counsel, he led the process to get the company’s first 510(K) in 2014 followed by two successful DeNovo clearances. Additionally, he authored the company’s first OIG Compliance Program in 2015 and is responsible for its expansion and development, successfully acquired the past FSS/VA and DAPA contracts for the company’s products, is involved in product development and manufacturing, successfully navigated an FDA audit, and is an advisor to the NeurAxis Executive Team. Dr. Carrico was responsible for development and implementation of the NeurAxis Quality Management System in 2020, by partnering with FDA counsel and outside experts on the subject. Dr. Carrico is also an inventor on one of the NeurAxis Patents and has assigned the auricular portion of the invention over to NeurAxis.
Dr. Carrico received his undergraduate education from Indiana University and his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Dr. Carrico’s goal is to continue to provide his acquired knowledge and experience to advance NeurAxis as a company and the technology it is focused on developing, especially to help children and the millions of people whose lives will improve because of the NeurAxis portfolio.
Ryan Kuhlman
Vice President of Sales
Ryan Kuhlman is a seasoned commercial leader with two decades of professional experience, including more than 13 years dedicated to advancing neuromodulation therapies at NeurAxis, Inc. During Ryan’s tenure, he has played a central role in bringing multiple first-to-market products from concept to commercial success, developing deep expertise in clinical applications, market strategy, and commercialization pathways.
As Vice President of Sales, Ryan is an integral member of the executive team, contributing to strategic decisions that shape the company’s product roadmap, market development initiatives, operational planning, and long-term growth strategy. His entrepreneurial mindset, combined with a comprehensive understanding of the neuromodulation landscape, positions him as a key driver of the company’s mission to deliver innovative, patient-centered solutions.
Ryan oversees all facets of commercial sales execution and strategic account management. He leads a growing team of sales professionals, fostering seamless communication, accountability, and alignment with organizational objectives. His leadership style emphasizes empowerment, data-driven decision-making, and a culture of high performance and excellence.
Ryan holds a BA in Business Administration and Management with a minor in Biology from Bellarmine University.
Trisha Baumgardt
Vice President of Marketing
Trisha Baumgardt is an accomplished Marketing leader with over 16 years of experience in clinical evidence-based marketing strategies and medical device product launches. Her background includes strengths in business to define commercial product launch strategies, oversee field implementation efforts, and position products within various market segments.
Trisha is currently the Vice President of Marketing at NeurAxis, Inc., where she develops the strategic framework for the NeurAxis product portfolio and collaborates with the executive team, sales leadership, and other team members to implement effective marketing strategies.
Prior to joining NeurAxis, Trisha held marketing roles in MedTech at Suros Surgical Systems, Inc. (now part of Hologic), and NICO Corporation (now part of Stryker). Her responsibilities have ranged from execution-driven marketing efforts to strategic, future market development, with a significant portion of her career launching innovative technologies in neurosurgery.
Trisha earned her Bachelor of Science in Management degree from Purdue University.
Eric Jakel
Vice President of Market Access & Reimbursement
Eric Jakel is Vice President of Market Access & Reimbursement at NeurAxis, Inc., where he is responsible for advancing patient access through effective pricing, coding, coverage, and payment strategies for innovative medical technologies. He brings more than 25 years of experience across the medical device industry, with deep expertise in market access, reimbursement, and provider-focused solutions.
In his role, Eric leads both the strategic planning and hands-on execution of market access initiatives, working closely with administrative and clinical stakeholders to align reimbursement pathways with operational and financial objectives. His work emphasizes clear communication, practical implementation, and scalable approaches that support adoption while maintaining compliance and sustainability.
Eric has extensive experience in the design and implementation of Integrated Practice Units and comprehensive service-line model frameworks. These care models are built to improve coordination across care teams, increase referral efficiency, standardize pathways and communication, and reduce time to treatment for patients.
His career spans clinical sales, marketing, contracting, account management, consulting, health economics, and market access; with experience supporting both early-stage medical device companies and established industry leaders. Eric joined NeurAxis in July 2019 and continues to focus on practical, execution-oriented solutions that support provider adoption and patient access.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Indiana University and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Brandi Rabon
Vice President of Patient Advocacy
Brandi Rabon brings over 20 years of healthcare experience to her role as Vice President of Patient Advocacy. Brandi is skilled at patient advocacy, patient access, program development and management, people management, healthcare marketing, health education, and understanding the nuances of the insurance system. As a seasoned healthcare professional, she has experience in the medical device industry, pharmaceutical industry, and home health settings, and years of relationship building in the pediatric gastroenterology community.
Brandi’s professional career is enhanced by her personal reality, having two daughters with a rare gastrointestinal disorder, one daughter who is a childhood cancer survivor, and one daughter with rare autoimmune and allergic diagnoses. She brings her fierce passion for patient advocacy and patient access to the NeurAxis patient community. She works hand in hand with patients, providers, and payors to ensure access to NeurAxis treatments while providing expertise to the executive team and management on best practices for patient engagement.
Brandi has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina.
Matt Kelker
Vice President of Market Development
Matt Kelker is an accomplished healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience in the medical device industry, bringing a unique combination of sales leadership, clinical expertise, and market development experience. As Vice President of Market Development at NeurAxis, Matt leads strategic growth initiatives focused on entering new markets and developing national networks of independent Veterans Affairs sales representatives across the US.
Throughout his career, Matt has demonstrated a unique ability to bridge the gap between clinical practice and commercial success. His experience spans clinical adoption, physician education, sales training, and capital equipment sales. Prior to his current role, Matt spent several years with Zimmer Biomet, where he played a key role in the commercialization and clinical adoption of the ROSA® robotic surgical platform. In this capacity, he partnered closely with surgeons, hospital leadership, and clinical teams to drive technology adoption, provide medical education and training, and support capital sales initiatives.
Matt earned his degree from Portland State University, where he participated in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), developing the leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills that have defined his professional career. He is recognized for his ability to build strategic partnerships, navigate complex healthcare reimbursement environments, and lead high-performing teams that accelerate market growth and improve patient access to innovative medical technologies.
Dr. Chris Brown DDS, MPS
Director of Innovation, Founder
Dr. Brown’s degrees include a BS from the University of Indianapolis, a Doctorate (DDS) from the Indiana University School of Dentistry, and a Master’s of Professional Studies ( MPS) from Lynn University in Biomechanical Trauma. He served on the board of directors of The American Academy of Pain Management for 15 years and a term as the President. He served for 6 years in the United States Army Reserve achieving the rank of Captain and acting clinic chief.
Dr. Brown has authored many articles and text book chapters regarding the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic pain, biomechanical trauma, and the physics involved in energy transfer through human tissue.
In addition to the American Dental Association he retains membership in the Society of Automobile Engineers, and the North American Neuromuscular Society ( NANS). He has played an active part in the theory and design of NeurAxis devices holding multiple device and method patents.
In addition to his role as Director of Innovation at NeurAxis Dr. Brown continues in private practice in Indiana with a concentration in Head, neck, and facial pain advancing clinical applications of Percutaneous electrical nerve field stimulation ( PENFS).
